Wayland Crash or instant Logout on RDP connect attempt

I updated my Debian Stable to testing as I found that Gnome 50.x (50.3 currently) may finally support RDP with multi monitors vs. only mapping the 1st one previously.

However things got worse:
Now Wayland/Mutter/etc. instantly crashes and I ended up been logged out when attempting to connect via RDP, I one got it work with a single monitor requested some how once, but not reliable either :frowning:

Gnome 50.3 currently. (Debian Testing)

Is there anything or a setting what may work reliable – I can unfortunately not operate like this.

Also related or not, I do see my Gtk4 app at random crashing – only when using it via RDP.

All of this simply should be impossible per design as of the nature of a remote control and must be rock solid with zero side-effects to be anywhere useful if the remote machine is NOT accessible in a far distance.

I tried as a temporary “recovery” to setup GDM to auto-log me back in. But idea that also failed, is it still required me to unlock some my key-ring manually… and it looks like before that blocking dialog was not closed the system stayed inaccessible via RDP :frowning:

The crash when using remote access was fixed in 50.4. You could ask your distro to either update to that or backport the fix:

I really depend on this been solid working in a mission critical instrument control environment.
I need to run 3x 4k displays side by side…

I finally moved, ported, … all I need from X11/VNC to Wayland in the hope it will work stable by 2025.

Server is now on Gnome 50.4 (Debian Testing just moved to 50.4)

I can connect again and no crash any more! But still did no managed to get access beyond my 1st display.
I testing “Connections” what is kind of bare bones, no multi monitor option, should that not be automatic anyways as XNVC?

And Remmnia what works good and has multi monitor options, but if I select those I only get an general error and blank screen.
It only works with no multi monitor selected for the 1st display :frowning:

Any instructions what to use or how to make multi monitor work?

While the Server is no more crashing at RDP connect, the other mission critical bugs remain and making me wonder if there ever will be a solution or I need to find some archaic X11 disro been solid and sound for mission critical instrument operations:

** GTK4 apps crash instantly at RDP connect and DISSCONNECT
** Still no multi display support

… and I just noted that the default Gnome Screenshot Tool – when not manually selecting everything – only captures the first screen, is that related ?
