I cannot disable middle-click pasting because, and this might not be true, my version of gnome-tweaks is behind my current version of GNOME. Please update the distributions so I can remove this hellish behaviour known as middle-click pasting.

GNOME does not “update distributions”: you should ask your distribution to update the gnome-tweaks package.
The latest release of GNOME Tweaks is 3.34.0; since there, there have been no changes outside of translation fixes. If you want to report a bug in GNOME Tweaks, please use GitLab.
