The "tasks and memos" bar is no longer displayed in the Calendar view

Hello @mcrha

I don’t know why, but for a few days now, the “task and memos” bar has no longer been displayed in the Calendar view.

I tried launching Evolution from a terminal while doing this but I don’t get any informative error messages.

Do you have any idea?

Hello @mcrha

Hi,

it’s not only me in the forum, others can answer this too.

I don’t know why, but for a few days now, the “task and memos” bar
has no longer been displayed in the Calendar view.

You did not mention the Evolution version, I guess it’s 3.56.1 or
simply the 3.56.x series (see below).

It can happen the column is so small that it’s almost invisible, but
your screenshot suggests it’s not the case. I have the tasks & memos
panel visible here, but I cannot hide it - clicking the menu option
simply does not flip it. This is with the current development version,
to be 3.57.1 in some weeks.

As a workaround, you can change the state from the command line, even
when Evolution is running, with:

   gsettings set org.gnome.evolution.calendar show-tag-vpane true

I would usually ask for a bug report at

but as the 3.56.2 should be released tomorrow (no promises, maybe it’ll
be next week), then I fixed it for that version without a bug
reference.

Thanks and bye,
Milan

Is View > Layout > Show Tasks and Memos pane enabled?

No need to ping individuals (except for overwhelming them), this is a public forum.

Okay, that works around the problem. Thanks.

I had the same problem as you with the action on the menu having no effect. I will do some more tests before opening a bug perhaps.

Version : 3.56.1 (3.56.1-1.fc42)

Sorry for pinging people in particular (because friendly and responsive  )
Good day.

No need to do that, it’s fixed already in the code. It’s currently
waiting for the release, then to be delivered to you.

OK :+1:
I read too quickly…
