Test suite for GTK3?

Hi. First post here. I am a long time Linux user, but not at all familiar with the inner workings of GTK.

The reason for this post is the following: I use a Java application often in my work (Hale studio) that recently started crashing, allegedly due to failures with gtk (see below). My current hypothesis is that these crashes likely started after my distro (openSUSE Tumbleweed) updated to gtk 3.24.48. I see there are a couple of reports, mentions and hints to similar problems but I am not sure of the real cause (not blaming gtk, could be the distro’s packages, and a lot of etceteras). Since I am not knowledgeable enough to single-handledly solve the issue I plan to at least dig and investigate a bit more so to help narrow down the number of possible causes.

Therefore, my question to you is if there is a test suit available that I could run on my local instance that could help find the roots of the problem.

Thanks

For context: using openSUSE Tumbleweed on Xfce. Error occurs the same while on KDE and Xfce, in both Wayland and Xorg.

(*) bug report on this issue [BUG]: GUI crash - fatal error with gtk in Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed) · Issue #1315 · halestudio/hale · GitHub

The issue has nothing to do with GTK: the application in question depends on a library that accesses private data, and there is zero guarantee provided to consumers about the internal layout of GTK’s types and functions.

My recommendation is to follow through with the developers of the application, as well as the packagers of your distribution.
