Hi, I’ve been using gnome shell for many years and I’m currently running version 49.8 on Gentoo Linux and I’ve run into a minor annoyance recently.
Probably since upgrading to version 49 this May, it seems like the sort order of items matching my keyboard entry in the overview has changed. I’m not talking about the order of result categories that can be re-ordered in the search section of gnome-control-center. An example, I have for many years pressed SUPER then typed fir then ENTER to open up firefox since that was the first hit. Now the first hit is gnome-firmware so I now have to type fire to make firefox the first item in the search results. I have had both firefox and gnome-firmware installed on my system for many years so I’m not sure what has changed on my system or if there is a way to customize the application list search results in the activities view.
Has anyone else experienced something like this or is this likely an issue with my system configuration?
