SOLVED Showing shadows around windows

I am running KDE on Arch. However, I’ve been using Evolution for over 10 years and am unwilling to change to a lesser application.

The Breeze theme allows me to display a shadow around the window that has focus and not any other. As I’m the type of user how often has multiple windows open at a time, this feature is quite important to me.

Evolution does not show the shadow.
Is there a way to make it do that? Preferably for all GTK apps.

Upon checking, Gimp and gparted do show the shadows.

Oh S#$%! I just knew if I posted a request for help, I’d find the answer myself and that’s exactly what happened! I changed Evolution’s settings to show standard window and it now works as it should!

Hi,
I suspect you are right, it’s because of the app(s) being gtk+, not QT.
Unfortunately, I’ve no idea how to do that. Maybe there’s some CSS
magic for it, but it would be better if the system (KDE) did it on its
own. Maybe there’s a setting for it, I do not use KDE myself. I know
they have special section with options for gtk+ apps. Maybe the gtk+
apps do not use the Breeze theme? I’m sorry. Try to search the
internet, you surely might not be the first one asking this. Otherwise
I suggest to ask on the KDE mailing list/forum, there should be more
experienced users in this area for sure.

Bye,
Milan
