Can we have the option in the file list to show the preview on the right while browsing the files as illustrated in the below screenshot.

I’d like to expore that road too. It could also include contextual actions (since the action bar experiment has failed).

If you have “sushi”, a extension to nautilus, installed, you can press “Space” to open a preview window. While it is open, you can also select other files in nautilus, and the preview will change.
