Sha256 on gimp-3.2.0-setup.exe.torrent

hi i download gimp-3.2.0-setup.exe from gimp-3.2.0-setup.exe.torrent, but sha 256 not “6332ab8fdf9d1f229abd7aab18874d476ae31405e2fe75bf786b8fdc90b891a8“. but when i download directly from site - all ok - checksum is correct. on torrent file sha is: “2c54da40eb4c17536a8f42b7897f5c5c984ab3b58a4f6607ca1c9f365f0bfbdf“
its error on site?

Hmmm… The direct download and the torrent download should give you exactly the same file.

Hopefully it’s just a corruption from the torrent download. Could you maybe retry the torrent download?

Could anyone who uses torrent test and compare the checksums?

Also: don’t install the version with the wrong checksum (just in case it’s something malicious happening, though I’m hoping it’s just a torrent download corruption).

strange, i download second time from torrent and all.ok.. checksum is correct. i guess my OS started acting up after the update. thanks for the advice!

Yeah, torrent protocol is normally made so there is no corruption (the whole integrity check is part of the process). But in reality, this can happen. Transmission for instance (one of the well known torrent software, at least on Linux) has had this bug for years where sometimes the last few bytes of a file just won’t get downloaded and you get stuck at 99.9% or something.

Anyway, problems happen. Good that you could validate that it was not a problem with this torrent itself!
