I’m someone who very often takes screenshots on my laptop and doesn’t clear the screenshot notifications whenever I do. When I then go to open my notification panel (the one in the top middle of the screen) or go on the lock screen, it’s absolutely flooded with screenshot notifications.
Here’s a picture I took earlier of what that looks like on the lock screen.
As you can tell, it’s mildly annoying to have the time and the login prompt pushed to the top by all the screenshot notifications.
This is why I think screenshot notifications, similar to notifications from apps, should be grouped.
Since this would be a larger UX change, I’m opening a discussion about this. I’d love to hear other peoples opinion on the matter and see if I’m the only one with this issue or if this is a bigger thing.
(Note: As of making this post, I have not yet upgraded my laptop to Fedora 43. The photo attached above is of GNOME 48 running on Fedora 42. If screenshot notifications are grouped in GNOME 49, then this post is irrelevant)
