Rename GNOME OS to just “GNOME”?

I’ve been thinking about this for a bit, but I don’t think GNOME OS is the best name for a stable, consumer-ready version of it. With the context of today the “OS” part being added on kind of evokes–at least to me–the distro model of plugging disconnected parts into one OS, which is in opposition to what the effort to turn GNOME OS into user-facing product seems to be. Of course Linux enthusiasts will still refer to it as “GNOME OS”, but still.

I don’t know if that makes sense, but hopefully someone can get what I’m talking about? I guess it feels more like the name for a GNOME operating system rather than the GNOME operating system.

If you rename GNOME OS to “GNOME” then how will you refer to GNOME OS separately from GNOME? They are two different things. Sounds maximally confusing.

We could have an entire discussion about GNOME (OS) with one person not realizing that GNOME (OS) even exists.
