Is there a reference manual available for newbies learning the Gnome environment? Preferably didactic/tutorial.
The Help app has information about using Gnome Shell. If you meant a reference for developing Gnome apps, see https://developer.gnome.org/ as a starting point.
Thanks for the reply. I have already gone through the help app and it was helpful, but as its name suggests it is just a “guide”, not a complete reference work. Brief and superficial. I was hoping for something more complete.
As just one example, I used Ubuntu Software to check for updates. My system tray showed an open session in Remmina. The introductory guide says nothing at all about Remmina or how it might be involved with downloads.
Maybe no such thing is available, but I thought it worth an ask.
Individual apps can also have help. Remmina is a remote desktop client. It is not involved with system updates.
