When I first installed GIMP 3.2.4 icons showing each of the image files were visible at the top of the screen. I could click on any one of those icons to view and continue to edit the image. The icons are no longer visible. How do I get them to become visible again?
Two possible causes (and fixes)
-
You are in multi-window mode; under the Window menu in GIMP, make sure Single window mode is enabled.
-
You hid all the docks; get them back by pressing TAB on the keyboard. If that makes things vanish, press TAB to bring them back.
Beyond that, it’s hard to tell. A full screen shot might help. If GIMP is in full-screen mode (F11) it also doesn’t show the image bar. But you can use control-pageUp and control-pageDown to move between open images.
I enabled Single Window and opened un-hid the docks. I can see the image of the open file. However, now the toolbar is in a single column on the right side of the screen. If I select the option to show the toolbar on the top, the position of the toolbar does not change.
