OAuth2 is a new way to verify. Some email services, such as Outlook, forcibly need it (See this). But I didn’t see OAuth2 option in Geary, so I couldn’t add my Outlook account (I guess it’s the reason). Is it available in Geary? If not, is it possible to add this feature? 
It’s not possible to do this directly in Geary.
If you’re using GNOME, then you can use gnome-online-accounts in gnome-control-center (System Settings) and Geary will pick up the email configuration from there. If you’re not using GNOME, I would try Thunderbird or a different email client instead.

I’m using Xfce instead of GNOME. I tried to install gnome-online-accounts-gtk and add my Microsoft account and it was successful. I think maybe this is a way for every DE. Thanks
