Monitor won't ever go to sleep unless Screen Lock is enabled

Hello there! I am using Gnome on BredOS (An Arch Linux variant for ARM) and have encountered a head scratcher of a problem

When I have Automatic Screen Lock set to off, even though the delay is otherwise set to 1 minute, the screen will never turn off!

However as soon as I toggle that switch to on, it works perfectly, the monitor goes into low power mode exactly as intended. The problem is, it locks my desktop and I keep having to enter a password which is driving me insane

I just want my monitor to turn off WITHOUT screen locking!

Thank yoU!

I don’t have this behaviour. Though, when there’s a notification, the screen wakes up and never shuts down until I dismiss the notification.

You are not on the right panel. There’s a toggle in the power panel to shutdown the screen.

Hi there, thank you for replying!

It is configured the same way inside the power tab:

but it does not work unless the screen lock is enabled. It never goes to sleep, even after being set to 1 minute!

I can confirm this symptom too. Because after manually screen locking & shutting monitor down with Super+L it wakes up and stays awake all because of any stupid random notification

This support forum is absolutely terrible too
