Meld is very slow starting on Win 7

Hi, I recently found “Meld” and like it a lot. However, I find it is very slow starting - 30sec to a minute - compared to the likes of Diffmerge, P4Merge, etc.

This is on my Win7 Pro x64 system - it has 8Gb of memory and an I5 processor - and it has nothing else running at the time. I am comparing two small-ish Python files with only 4 or 5 differences.

Is there anything I can do about this ??

The homepage mentions 3.20 uses a different build chain on Windows and to try 3.18 if you have issues. Eitherway I’d just report it to the project.
