I am using Evolution with a Microsoft 365 account. Email and calendar work well. Initially, contacts showed and email address completion worked, but for the third time now all organizational contacts disappeared. In the last two times I ended up removing and recreating the account, but I’m sure there’s a better way. No error messages are displayed anywhere that I can see.
I have just discovered the M365_DEBUG environment variable, but the output is verbose and I have no idea where to look. Any suggestions?

Hi,
what is the evolution-ews package version, please? I hope it’s at
least 3.60.x (I guess so too, because you mentioned organizational
contacts, which had been added not long ago).
for the third time now all organizational contacts disappeared.
Is it the address book is still there, only its content is empty, or
also the address book itself is gone? I mean in the Contacts view. If
it’s still there, when you select it and search at the top for “Name
contains…”, will it find anything?

Right, it’s logging the raw communication between the server and the
client. Different processes show different communication. Let’s not use
it for now.
(the --force-shutdown before and after, in case your desktop
environment or some other app would restart the evolution-addressbook-factory process while playing with its internal
files), and then start Evolution. It’ll re-fetch the address book data
like if the account was configured for the first time.
My m365 account has the Organizational Users address book, which is
slightly slower, but it can search in it and it shows all the expected
contacts there.
In that case do flatpak update org.gnome.Evolution , please, to get
the 3.60.2 version (several months old). Then run flatpak kill org.gnome.evolution and then run Evolution as you are
used to.
The evolution-ews 3.60.2 contains some fixes in the connection
object, which can cause some trouble.
