Some time ago GnomeOS started to boot upto a black screen with underscore (i.e. no GUI), the last working version that booted normally in VM was 879304. Is there a way to diagnose what’s wrong with this installation in VM for newer GnomeOS versions?
This is an old version. We did have an issue around a month ago. I think not long after that version. But it has been fixed since. What is the newest version you have tried that is not working?
From time to time I’ve been updating it (with updatectl update) since then, it’s still the same. The last one is 896458 updated a couple days ago, when it’s booting there’s a screen with running messages for a short time and then a black screen (I suppose it works because it can be rebooted/shutted-down via ACPI). If it matters, it’s in developer mode.
Upd: updated it to today’s 896722, the same. Looking at dmesg output (after enabling sshd and logged in), there’s many messages like [ 11.751480] traps: gnome-session[738] trap int3 ip:7f9523a23d03 sp:7fffa2ec4040 error:0 in libglib-2.0.so.0.8503.0[6ed03,7f9 5239d8000+a9000] [ 12.675492] traps: gnome-session[781] trap int3 ip:7f361d869d03 sp:7ffc25b20fe0 error:0 in libglib-2.0.so.0.8503.0[6ed03,7f3 61d81e000+a9000] …
