Keyboard focus stays on Firefox while Burp Suite is in foreground

Hello GNOME community,

I’m experiencing an issue with window and keyboard focus on GNOME when using Firefox and Burp Suite.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Firefox and Burp Suite.

  2. Enable Intercept in Burp.

  3. Click a link in Firefox so the request is intercepted.

  4. Click the Burp popup notification or the Burp icon in the Dock.

Burp Suite is brought to the foreground, but keyboard focus remains on Firefox.

Observed behavior:

  • Pressing Ctrl + R refreshes Firefox instead of triggering Burp’s shortcut (e.g. sending the request to Repeater).

Expected behavior:

  • The foreground window (Burp Suite) should receive keyboard focus.

I’ve tested this across multiple GNOME versions (Wayland), and the behavior is consistent.

Is this expected behavior, a known issue, or is there a workaround to ensure proper keyboard focus?
