After a recent update, icons in the GNOME app grid occasionally appear significantly larger than expected.
The issue is intermittent:
- Sometimes icons render at normal size
- Other times they appear oversized
- It can “fix itself” without a clear trigger (by restarting shell, or after some time)
Steps to reproduce
Currently inconsistent, but observed during:
- Opening the app grid (Activities → Show Applications)
- Switching between workspaces or reopening overview
Additional Notes
- Issue started after a system update (last week)
- Appears to resolve temporarily without manual intervention
- Not yet confirmed whether extensions are the cause
