How to use Night Light with OLED?

Seems like brightness controls are disabled on my Dell XPS 9570 laptop. Night Light works just fine, but I can’t dim the screen. When dimming with xrandr,

xrandr --output eDP-1 --brightness 0.6

…brightness is reduced, but Night Light is disabled. When toggling it in the settings window, brightness goes back up again.
