how to test gtk4

I compiled gtk4 successfully according to the instructions: Gtk – 4.0: Compiling the GTK Libraries

how can I install gtk4 on the system? the texteditor of Fedora 36 still show version 4.6.4. I compiled gtk 4.7.0

Hello! You should compile with a non-standard prefix (for example, /opt/devel) by invoking Meson with

meson --prefix=/opt/devel

Then compile and install (meson install). To launch applications with the compiled libgtk, set the LD_PRELOAD environment variable accordingly:

LD_PRELOAD=/opt/devel/lib/libgtk-4.so ./path/to/application

If you want to automate all that then consider using jhbuild or the nightly Flatpak runtime.
