How to reset my choice about whether to save a password or not for a specific website on gnome web

I am brand new to gnome (and Linux for that matter) and I have been using Gnome Web as my main browser for several weeks now. I am really loving the experience.

When I first started using it to visit websites that require a login, when the prompt came up that asked if I wanted to save the password, I was responding not to. But then as I grew more comfortable with the browser, I started responding yes and having web save my passwords.

Now, there are a couple of websites that I I visit frequently that I had originally chosen not to save the passwords for. But I would like Web to save the password now so I don’t have to constantly look it up. The problem is, I can’t figure out how to change my decision for those websites.

Web no longer asks me if I want to save my password for those sites and I don’t see any options in the settings that allow me to change my decision for a given website.

I would love it if someone could show me how to cause Web to save the password for a site that I had previously chosen not to save the password for. I am fairly technical so if this involves directly editing config or preference files or anything like that, that would be fine too.

Thank you!

If you click on the lock symbol in the address bar, it should open a popup with the security of the website and its permissions. There, you can change the password saving setting for the website.

Yeah it’s hard to find if you don’t know about it, but it’s there.

Feel free to file bug reports for any websites where the password does not properly autofill. It’s still not very good at autofilling…

Thank you! I’m glad there is a way to do it. As @mcatanzaro eludes to, it doesn’t seem to be working right. After setting the Password saving entry to “Allow”, it is still not saving the password.

This is progress, though. I’ll go ahead and file a bug report.

Thanks to you both!
