How to get System Settings to Recognize my brand of mouse

Hello,

I know this is a minor thing, but I am wondering if there is a way to get System Settings to recognize my mouse device.

I am running on AlienWare and currently operating under Ubuntu 26.04 - and when I click on the Mouse & Touchpad option it brings up the form, but an error message is displayed near the top that says, “Querying devices failed. Please reopen this settings module.”

I looked online for information, but most of the threads I found dealt with folks whose mice are not working at all. That is not the issue here.

I looked in the x11 libinput file and it has the “catchall” lines and I suppose that is why my mouse device is working, which is good.

Like I mentioned earlier - I was just wondering about this sort of thing.

It is not a high priority and I have no complaints about the operating system - I love Ubuntu!!! You guys are doing great work.

If there is any info out there that I am missing I would appreciate the help.
