How do I make wine/Lutris apps I am using follow GNOME's window/tab management?

I have been trying to make game’s I have downloaded follow the GNOME ‘rules’ but nothing seems to work on this desktop environment. Does anyone know how to make GNOME behave with these types of programs?

What is the problem exactly? I am not sure I understand

Sorry. What I mean is that in GNOME, there is that little tab on top of the application, that you can see on my Mullvad app or the Wine app as well, but when I click on wine games for example, it takes up and uses the full screen, with no option to do anything else. Like pressing ‘fullscreen’ on a video you watch online. Did I make more sense here? Basically, it takes over full control of my monitor/desktop. Only way to ‘back out’ is to use the Super key.

Oh, you meant header bar? Yes yes, I see what you mean now. It’s called fullscreen mode. You can get out of it commonly by going to the video settings of your game.

I’ve just tripled checked and nada. Wine apps don’t respect this for some reason, I think it worked before GNOME 50.

Just to make sure, if your app is in fullscreen mode, do you see GNOME Shell’s top bar? I’m curious whether the game has broken fullscreen or whether it doesn’t have decorations at all

Just a guess, but did the preset you used in Lutris enable Gamescope?

Gamescope is a little utility that allows to resize the game window to a different resolution. The surface (technical term for the window) it creates has AFAIK no window decorations (stuff like the title bar, window controls).

If Lutris launches you game with Gamescope, then try removing Gamescope from the launch.
