GUADEC 2026 is just around the corner. This year’s event has a new item on the schedule: “Community Update”. This 1 hour session will give teams an opportunity to give quick lightening talks on who they are, what they are doing, and how to participate.
Teams can be technical or non-technical in focus. The only requirement is that your team is really a team, and is working on GNOME.
I’m thrilled that the Engagement Team wants to present, @zahmed ! There will definitely be slides. I’m planning to do a single deck so we don’t lose time switching mid-presentation. If you tell me what you want on the slides I can handle adding the material.
Thanks for reaching out, @gbernard . Personally I’m a bit fearful of remote talks, both in terms of getting the AV right and introducing time delays into the session. Is there someone who will be present who could present on behalf of the i18n team? If you provide slides and notes it could work.
Thank you for your answer. What about a pre-recorded video of the i18n team in which we present who we are/what we do, under the same conditions (less than 5 minutes, etc)?
Hi @gbernard yes we can do that, and we’d love a video. If you can send it to guadec@gnome.org when it’s ready, that would be awesome. It’ll need to be in mp4 format.
