Gtk license source code and documentation

Hello,

I’m browsing the new gtk.org website and I find it very nice.

Although, there’s a point I’m not sure when I visit Gtk – 4.0 and I see these information:

Namespace

Gtk – 4.0

The GTK toolkit

Version 4.3.0
Authors GTK Development Team
License GPL-2.1-or-later
Website https://www.gtk.org
Source GNOME / gtk · GitLab

Does these informations are about the documentation itself or about the Gtk library ?

I’m not sure, because on that webpage the license is “GPL 2.1 or later” and on the git repostirory it’s “LGPL 2” as described here: COPYING · main · GNOME / gtk · GitLab

If documentation and source code has different license, it would be better to find a way to make it clear on the doc website. Maybe by adding a “Documentation License” row in the table above.

That’s a typo. The license for GTK is, indeed, LGPL-2.1-or-later.

I’ve seen you already updated it, thanks :+1:
