Google Drive in GNOME 50

Yeah the duplicate entries after creating/copying stuff is a known issue. I’ve been trying to solve it with no success so far. But it’s definitely on the to-do list.

Re hitting rate limits - that sucks. Have you experienced similar limits with the previous implementation as well?

Thanks! I’ll look at what other implementations did and consider it.

This issues come.

I added a gsetting for controlling the export types. It defaults to MS Office and can be modified:

gsettings set org.gnome.gvfs.google export-format-document odt
gsettings set org.gnome.gvfs.google export-format-spreadsheet ods
gsettings set org.gnome.gvfs.google export-format-presentation odp

To see the list of possible values:

gsettings range org.gnome.gvfs.google export-format-document

You should get it on your next update. Let me know if there are any issues.

Thanks for reporting. After installing the packages you need to remove the Google online account and create it again. Have you done that?

You can also look at the GitHub - astrada/google-drive-ocamlfuse: FUSE filesystem over Google Drive · GitHub implementation to check how they handle the same name issue.

I installed it on my machine and after restarting and granting new permissions in online accounts, there it was. I would like to congratulate my friend @fluhus once again for the initiative and work, congratulations.

now okay, after read this message , thank you

Another option is RClone, which can mount a Google Drive: Google drive . But I’d be happiest if it was integrated into Gnome again.

Thanks for your work. This is such an amazing tool and it’s working perfectly on my Fedora 44. Is it possible to make a donation?

I seem to be getting: (tried rebooting and reconnecting in all possible orders)

installed via:

sudo dnf copr enable fluhus/gnome-googledrive
sudo dnf update --refresh

I’m not super technical, but if there is any more data I could provide on the problem, I will do so gladly with some guidance, as this is truly a noble cause!

Running - Fedora Linux 44 (Workstation Edition) w. Linux 7.0.13-200.fc44.x86_64

After running sudo dnf copr enable fluhus/gnome-googledrive, you need to run:

sudo dnf update --refresh

It should install the modified packages. After that:

  1. Log out and back in to your desktop.
  2. Then go to Online Accounts, remove the existing Google account and create it again.

Sorry, There was a pasteing typo, this is the process that was done, (updated the comment aswell).

I did this one more time, same error.

Thank you! I’m unable to receive donations but upvoting the MR can help us know that there is community demand for this feature.

Can you describe or show screenshots of what your Online Accounts looks like? What happens when you add your Google account?

I’m getting the same error too! Waiting for more replies.

I also tried removing Gnome from linked apps (via Google account manager) completely and then retrying, no success.

calender and email work fine.

some more screenshots:

Fedora recently updated gvfs to gvfs-1.60.1-1.fc44, so the original Fedora package will be newer than the one from the Copr (1.60.0-1.copr1778764032) and dnf will prefer the newer package. gnome-control-center is newer as well: 50.3-1.fc44 vs. 50.1-1.copr1777494737.

My access looks like this too:
