On a fresh Gnome OS Nightly, https://extensions.gnome.org/ seems not to work in any browser - much appreciate any directions. Thank you!

P.S. How to install https://extensions.gnome.org/ in gnome-web? - #2 by rsb00od looks oldish

Hi there!

As far as I know, GNOME Web doesn’t support the browser extension required for the extension website.

And in other browsers, which you would have to install using Flatpak, the Flatpak sandbox would not permit access to the native messaging host I believe the browser extension is using.

So, using the browser extension is unfortunately not a good solution under GNOME OS currently. Instead, I’d recommend using the Extension Manager application instead.

Additionally:
Keep in mind that GNOME OS Nightly is an experimental system based on the most recent development builds. There can be compatibility issues with extensions for any possible reason.

Understood. However, the “Vitals” extension is useful for testing.

If you disable version checking (i dont think that setting is available in GUI) you can use most extensions just about fine.
