this post is to discuss the maintenance status of Gnome Music.
As you know Music is part of core, and yet it missed the latest release, again.
It’s development has been stalled or terribly slow for years now. While last year there was a spike in activity in the project, to which I contributed, this year there has been close to zero activity on the main branch (excluding translations). There has been no significant development since basically last November. Maintainers are not responding on any channel.
Open issues and MRs are not reviewed, if not by me. The same goes for messages on the Matrix channel, so much so that people have started sending me private messages asking for guidance. I also have 10 MRs ready to merge to fix evident bugs and implement features that have been requested for years. All stalled.
Considering the sad state of the project, I am available to step in as a maintainer, as I am the de-facto one already.
