The GNOME Foundation is looking to recruit a content writer to assist with fundraising and communications work. This is a flexible contract to support our end-of-year fundraising campaign, running October 2026 to January 2027.
The work will include drafting blog posts, social media messages, and copy for web pages. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside volunteers as part of a community team, using open source tools (Matrix for chat, GitLab for issue tracking, etc).
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a skilled writer who understands open source and is familiar with the GNOME project. Professional writing experience is welcome but not required, as long as examples of prior work are provided (this can include writing from a range of areas, not necessarily marketing). Above all, we are interested in candidates who can produce focused messaging, understand our audience, and help us to get our message across clearly.
