Ready to bring the GNOME community to your city? The GNOME Foundation is excited to open the call for bids to host GNOME Asia 2026 — and this could be your opportunity to create an unforgettable event experience!
Start by submitting your Call for Location through our short application form submissions are open until end-of-day 20th July 2026.
Selected teams will then be invited to submit their final proposal using our online form by 18th July 2026.
When preparing your proposal, please include:
- Location details
- List of local organizing team members
- Information about local support (GNOME communities, open source groups, universities, government agencies, or businesses connected to GNOME and open source)
- Potential local sponsors
- Venue details
- Proposed event dates
- Travel information (airports, train access, etc.)
- Local transportation plans for attendees
- Accommodation and dining options
- Social event ideas
- Group activities and experiences
- Estimated costs and overall event budget
- Important Dates

Need inspiration? Previous years’ proposals are available for reference, and we encourage you to connect with Foundation Board members and former GNOME Asia organisers to learn more about what goes into hosting the event.
Hosting a GNOME event is a big and rewarding journey — but you won’t do it alone. Local organising teams will receive support from Foundation staff and contributors throughout the process.
