I believe we are now on the very final stage before we finally release GIMP 3.2.0! Of course, we just released the RC3, so we’ll have to wait and see a few more days, but from what we saw during this latest release cycle, I hope we won’t have much more to go in but small bug fixes here and there.
So for now, the plan stands
Version: GIMP 3.2.0
Planned release date: Saturday, 14th of March (hopefully!)
Strings are obviously still frozen (just as they have been since the start of the RCs), though since a bug on Damned Lies got very recently fixed (thanks a lot to @ajonsson for this! ), a few seemingly new strings may have appeared on your radars recently.
Sorry for that!
In any case, thanks all for making GIMP great in so many languages!
For info, we feel in a very good spot right now to do the actual release tomorrow morning. A bunch of people tested various test builds and no complain whatsoever so far. And now we are in a very limited code acceptance (only very basic and obvious bug fixes, to limit any unexpected regression bugs).
So I think I’ll start the last steps in our release checklist tomorrow morning (CET timezone), and hopefully the tagging will be done by lunch too, so that we can publish the release news and notes on the official website in the afternoon.
Therefore, if all goes well, translators still have a window of more or less (a bit less in hopeful timeline) about 24h to push translation updates!
And yes, I assume we’ll have a GIMP 3.2.2 in a few months (sometimes faster if people find bad bugs on a first version — which is not uncommon unfortunately! —, though I hope not! ), as usual.
