Gimp clone buggy and drag won't paint over original

GIMP 2.10.34. Desktop Raspberry Pi 5 desktop OS.

Hello,

I’m trying to clone paint over some edges, however dragging the mouse to clone paint does nothing.

I have Ctrl+clicked the mouse cursor on to a preferred area of the image to be cloned.

The paint brush is a small square area to paint on the image.

The computer seems to be working hard, but I’ve shut down other programs and the same challenge.

Gimp Clone has worked previously, however it has always been buggy and usually a Gimp restart fixes the issue, alas not now.

Trying on that very same 2.10.34 on Linux on a regular PC and using Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Dashboard to monitor CPU usage the CPU never goes above 3% even with a large (200px) softened brush at usual spacing (10%). Things are a little harder with a 1% spacing where I reach around 10% CPU.

Also, how much RAM have you got, and how much memory, cache and swap is Gimp using (see also the Dashboard dialog).
