This is what the console window in my AppImage looks like:
![]()
That’s unreadable. Can this be changed, please?
Using the dark GIMP theme (the system one is even worse).
I’m on a Linux Mint Mate, also a dark theme.

My eyes hurt too. Seems to be a theme leak bug. I can reproduce on Ubuntu with AppImage only.
Report on gimp tracker is appreciated.
I leave that to you.
I don’t report others issues I see on forums, even the official ones. One of the reasons is that I can forget about them (and indeed I forgot) due to the lack of time and can miss details
Also I would like to add that GIMP is community software where everyone is expected to participate if we want GIMP to be able to go forward.
Only relying always on the same few people (@brunvonlope does a lot already and is therefore an invaluable member of this community
) is the best way to exhaust and discourage them.
You should consider this like a friendly neighbourhood association where neighbours are helping each others. But if you always ask the very same few handful of neighbours to do everything for the dozens other neighbours who just want to sit then grab the result of their friends work, then it is simply not a sustainable setup. And the only possible outcome of this will be that eventually the ones doing all the work will abandon.
We aren’t asking crazy involvement, but if you find issues and if you actually care about improving GIMP, at least reporting these issues seems to me like some minimum. Don’t ask others who are already overwhelmed with so much to do to also do the small tasks you could take care of (because small tasks multiplied by millions of users ⇒ not small at all in the end if it needs to be done by a few people! But if every user does their part, then it’s completely manageable as a whole).
Thanks for understanding.
