Geary not picking personal Microsoft account on Ubuntu 25.10

Hello,

I have this situation where I have 4 laptops, 2 with ubuntu 25.04, 2 with 25.10. On the 25.04 ones, Geary gets the correct information for the online accounts from Ubuntu/Gnome settings, for example for both google and microsoft accounts. On 25.10 Geary finds only google account, while Microsoft account is not recognized, but it works fine on Evolution. Any chance to fix this?

(Hi, I don’t see how this is Evolution related?)

Evo. gets the info from online accounts correctly, to say that with other apps the information is available.

So it’s clearly a problem with Geary, not Evolution, and doesn’t belong
on this list (forum, whatever).

Could be, yes, I will try and see if they know more on Geary side.

ah wait, from Geary gitlab page I’m bounced here for support :smiling_face_with_tear:

just tried to add outlook or google account to geary, didn’t work at all

Did you try directly in Geary or did you set them up in online accounts in system settings? Google worked for me from system settings.

Why are we seeing posts about Geary? This is supposed to be an
Evolution forum.

tried in geary, google works now through system settings, there’s two for outlook, sure you got the right one? i would test it, but don’t wanna bloat my system. got outlook in thunderbird already.

Tag has been fixed, it was filled automatically probably because I mentioned evolution

Exchange is not the correct one for personal accounts, it has to be Microsoft 365

Hi,
I guess it’s some “great” feature of the Discourse, the post has a
correct geary tag (unless somebody changed it meanwhile, then we are
subscribed to the thread as “wrote a comment here”). The “Evolution”
word was used in the description, which (I guess and only guess)
Discource decided to be interesting also for the Evolution tag
subscribers. Or something like that. Or something else.

Definitely not Max’ or anybody else fault, from my point of view.

Bye,
Milan

Thanks.

I’d also ask, for the benefit of those of us who only read this forum
via email, that posters quote the relevant part of what they want to
comment on.
