I am the coordinator of the Bulgarian GNOME translation. Bulgarian GIMP translation is in final phases and now we have a volunteer for translating the manual.
Hi, actually I wanted to do some changes in the Bulgarian UI translation and (did it already), but stumbled upon the untouched Gimp manual and mentioned it to Alex. And he understood, that I want to translate it .
Anyway from time to time I get bored and may contribute to the translation of the manual.
Who am I?
Just another programmer since the beginning of the century. I helped with the Bulgarian translation of XFCE, translated “Rust by example” without the last chapter. Now translating “Go by example”. etc.
I am trying to finish a few last things before announcing a string freeze to publish a first version of the manual for GIMP 3.2. This work is done on the master branch. If you want to work on translating the manual, the master branch should be your target.
After that there will still be some parts that need work, but the major parts should already be in a reasonable state.
Translate but if there are typos and grammar issues in the English original - file them as tickets
Yes, please. If you encounter any issue with the English version of the manual, please let us know.
Translate but also work on a particular part of the original
Anyone is free to translate the parts in any order they prefer. However, personally I would prioritize the basic parts of the manual first, e.g. gimp, concepts, using, dialogs, toolbox, menus.
