I have no idea how I deleted my “Downloads” folder but when I created a new folder name “Downloads” the icon switched

Have you restarted Nautilus? I recently had a similar issue, and restarting Nautilus by login out and back in solved it.

You might need to set XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=“$HOME/Downloads” in .config/user-dirs.dirs.
