Files Customization

How does the user customize the appearance of Files?

What part of appearance you want to customize ? Also, you have themes, which can change the look of it’s user interface.

I want to customize the left pane of Files.

“Customise” how?

Can you please be more clear, and state what you want to achieve?

What drives and file system it displays.

So you want to hide a drive? You can do that in Disks (look under mount options)

Not “Hide”. “Display”. It doesn’t display things in any useful manner.

So an attached drive is missed? Again check disks

How do I insert screenshots here?

3 options: button, drag & paste

I see no button.

However, here is the drag and drop:

I don’t see how Disks helps in configuring Files. Please explain.

If I select to “Show in user interface”, then I just get another of the same root system. The other drive already is checked.

I’m still not really sure what the problem is here, can you tell us about your drives and how you expect them to be shown?

From previous posts:

What drives and file system it displays.

Please explain with an example. Something like:

I have the following disk configuration:

  • disk A with 2 partitions
  • disk B with 4 partitions
    …
    etc

and I want the side pane to display ______ ( fill with details )

I have the following disk configuration:
250 GB main
240 GB other
The first is three partitions: boot, main, swap
The second is one partition

The current display is shown here:
