One of the few cool features Windows has and I still miss after ~14 years of switching to the penguin OS, is the ability to copy-paste a direct link for a file in the file selection dialogue’s address bar. That would download the file in a temporary directory and choose that file, automatically. Could/should this be implemented into Nautilus someday? What do y’all think?
Implicitly downloading things from the internet is not a good thing. Auto downloading large files is undesirable, and figuring out the size of files before downloading is not always possible or fast.
