EWS sending error: "Invalid base64 string for MIME content"

I am using Evolution (flatpak 3.52.3) on PopOS. When sending with my work email, which runs on the Microsoft EWS plugin, I am getting this error when sending HTML emails:

I can send the messages if I switch to Plain Text, but this is not sustainable because HTML emails are the norm in my organization, and there are times when they are necessary.

Has anyone seen this before, or do you have any suggestions for how it might be resolved?
