As the topic says, do events in the Calendar app of the GNOME Project use space?
Once I’m done with an event, should I delete that from the Calendar to free up space?

I assume with the space used you refer to space on the hard drive / disk?
Well, every information that is saved on the computer does uses space on disk.
That being said, for each event, there’s only a handful of information that needs to be saved, which is also in text format. So, in short, it doesnt take much space. You’d need an extraordinary amount of events stored in your calendar for it to make an noticeable impact on your disk space.
You can see how much space it uses by looking at the size of files in ~/.cache/evolution/calendar for online calendars and ~/.local/share/evolution/calendar/ for the local calendar(s).
I almost never delete events unless they were cancelled or they were a temporary note, and after 20 years of intensive use, my biggest calendar barely weighs 6.3 megabytes. It’s insignificant.
