My laptop hard drive is on its last legs and I back up very infrequently, but want to do it once more before replacing the drive. The error I get is Could not understand duplicity version
I’m running deja-dup 50.1-2.fc45 and duplicity 3.2.0-2.fc46 on Fedora Rawhide. (I have a working installation on Fedora 44 on another machine.) Should I downgrade Duplicity?
Huh, that usually means that we couldn’t run duplicity --version for some reason. Run deja-dup in a console, and you should see more error information. (might be a nice improvement to put info that right in the dialog, but that’s where it is at the moment)

python appears to be 3.15.0~rc1
Ah so can you downgrade python? That seems like some sort of packaging mismatch or the duplicity package has not yet been rebuilt with the new python.
Thanks, Michael. I’ll just be patient. On Rawhide, this sort of issue usually gets resolved in a day or two. I forget this every time an upgrade renders GNOME unbootable until the next day when the gnome-desktop3 package arrives. I think a python downgrade will leave my laptop questioning its will to live.
