I’d like to volunteer as coordinator of the Macedonian (mk) translation team.
I’m Marko Vuckovik, a native Macedonian speaker. The team is currently orphaned, no coordinator, committers, reviewers, or active translators, and the translation has been essentially frozen for years (about 26% UI coverage for GNOME 50, 0% documentation).
I’ve just joined the team on Damned Lies. I’m raising coordinatorship early because there is currently nobody who can review or commit anything for mk, so no contribution can work. If the Coordination Team prefers, I’m glad to first upload a module or two through vertimus so you can judge the quality before appointing me.
My plan: bring the core desktop up to date for the upcoming release, rebuild a terminology glossary from the existing corpus, and recruit contributors through the local community. I use computer-assisted first drafts, but every string is reviewed and validated by me as a native speaker before submission, and I’ll follow the GTP guidelines, string freezes, and coordinator responsibilities.
