I have switched from Outlook to Evolution recently and I am super happy.
There is just one thing I am missing that I was using a lot in Outlook. I would like to be able to rightclick on an event in the calender, or a contact in the addressbook, and then choose to which category I want to add that item (or choose which category to apply to that item). I have looked at View > Layout > Customize… and then ‘event context menu’ and ‘contact context menu’ but although there are a lot of options there, unfortunatly adding category to the context menu is not one of them.
So I hope you wonderfull developers will pick up this message and add it. Thanks in advance, or if it is not picked up, thanks anyway, because I am realy happy with this open source solution.
Hi,
thank you for the suggestion. It sounds similar to the mail Labels,
which can be found in the menus, thus it could be doable in a similar
way.
Would you mind to fill a feature request in the
and paste here a link to it, please? That way it won’t be forgotten. I
cannot promise any quick look on, but having it there other people can
look it on too and propose patches. Let me know if you cannot file the
bug, I will file it for you.
I guess it’s the “Available Categories” action. It is truly only for
the management of them, to add/remove/edit the list of the categories.
It corresponds to the Edit->Available Categories menu option.
Hi Milan, I tried filling in a feature request using the link you provided, but I can’t figure out how to log in there. So if you could file it for me, that would be wonderfull.

Hmm, no idea what they changed, but I did not see a login screen there
for a long time, thus hard to tell, I’m sorry. I know there had been
some limitations due to spammers or such.
So if you could file it for me, that would be wonderfull.
Sure thing, I filled it here:
No promises when it’ll be done, it may take months or even more. It
depends.
