Bug: Keyboard Layout Disappears when switching to another DE

Step 1: Logout (using the GUI)

Step 2: Click the gear icon

Step 3: Choose Cinnamon

Step 4: Enter the password and login

Step 5: Finish whatever you wanna do with cinnamon

Step 6: Repeat steps (1-4) but choose gnome

Result: Your second keyboard layout (In my case it is for different language than English) disappears and only English remains, and thus you are forced to add the keyboard layout again from the settings

Note: I have both layouts on cinnamon and they do not disappear there. They only disappear when I switch back to gnome.

Switching GNOME ↔ orher DEs can be messy, and is not well supported. Not sure why keyboard layout is affected tho

I only switch to cinnamon when I need x11 to play old games on wine and it feels a bit annoying when the keyboard layout disappeaes tbh

Does wine doesn’t work on GNOME for you? I think it should be fine

On wayland, when you play an old game in wine in full screen, the game just fills a portion of the screen and the rest is black. At least that is my experienxe with the nouveau driver (I cannot use the proprietary nvidia driver as it has no wayland support).
