Brightness slider stops working after laptop sleep

I’ve had my current laptop (Lenovo Yoga Pro 9) for a year now and basically only had one major issue which is a sound issue that is a kernel issue.

But a few updates ago, another issue arose which is pretty major:

When I wake my laptop from sleep the brightness slider in Gnome stops working.

After I reboot, it starts functioning again until I put the laptop to sleep the next time.

But, I’m a fairly new Linux user, so I’m bad at bug reporting and also I do not know exactly when this started happening (only that it’s within the last year). Plus, when it comes to Linux, it’s impossible for me to say if it’s another kernel issue or a fault with Gnome, so I don’t really know who to report to either.

Anyway, the sun is starting to shine now so time to reboot the laptop so I can adjust the brightness up a bit.
