In Files, when images are smaller than the thumbnails dimensions, their thumbnail scales them up showing a pixelated mess. I suggest adding an option to not scale up but to show small images in actual size when possible, perhaps allowing only scaled down large images in thumbnails.

Adding an option that fixes a problem is not the GNOME way. We should fix the problem directly, not offer an option to fix it.
Good news is that a few improvements are planned for versions 44. Not scaling up thumbnails is among them.
