Files already has Copy Location in the current-folder menu (added for #1966), but right-clicking a selected file or folder has nothing equivalent.
I know Ctrl+C on a file and pasting into a text field gives its path. That was the answer in Feature Request: Copy as Path and Copy path to clipboard in the context menu. The problem is that nothing in the UI hints at it, and both threads came from people who didn’t know. That same reason is why Copy Location was added: the keyboard-only way wasn’t discoverable.
Use cases: passing a file as an argument in a terminal, putting a path into a config file or code, giving an AI coding assistant a file path, or filling in path fields in apps that don’t accept drag-and-drop.
Suggestion: a “Copy Path” item next to Copy in the selection menu. For several selected files it would copy one path per line, the same text Ctrl+C already produces, just visible in the menu.
