Add bcachefs into gnome disk

https://bcachefs.org/
Bcachefs is stable enough and hoping this to be more robust in 2025 why not just add this tocgnome disk app.

Nah, BcacheFS remains very unstable and immature in its development. Even kernel developers are having headaches with the modules of this FS.

PS: Gnome OS is a testing system, so it is super unnecessary to keep adding items that will not help - or even hinder - the development of Gnome apps and technologies.

I know but if you look into we want a fs like xfs or ext4 which can not be achieved with btrfs.
Though btrfs is good but we need to tests bcechefs
About the kernel maintainer issue that you have mentioned i would correct you that it was not about stability or something it was that the developer have submitted a hugh patch set at the time of testing rc5
It was about devs nature of collaboration that they fail.
Apart from that I don’t really think it is issue at all.
But yes debian recently removed support because they can’t maintain that mainly this is the first fs in kernel linux that conatain rust components and they are working to integrate more and more rust stuff which is good but due to the stagnation of the maintainers they can’t maintain the overhead that required for packaging a rust stuff as it need more built time and more knowledge about rust.
But this is not a case for other distros like opensuse
Fedora rhel arch.
There are distros that looking into to infuse more rust component into the os example serpent os.
I would as gnome is a dE if they start supporting it will be good to have a new fs. I know it will take time to other distros to provide that fs by default.

Open a merge request to add support for it.
